Today is “International Day Of the Girl” On this day activist groups come together for the same goal to emphasize, talk about and rally for rights and opportunities for girls everywhere.

I wanted to interpret this topic from a biblical perspective. Please know that October 11 is not just a day; it’s a movement. A worldwide revolution which means to revolve, to go around.

My interpretation of what it mean from my biblical study; what the apostle John is saying in

1 John 3:18 Amplified Bible (AMP)

18 Little children (believers, dear ones), let us not love [merely in theory] with word or with tongue [giving lip service to compassion], but in action and in truth [in practice and in sincerity, because practical acts of love are more than words].

Through LOVE is the first thing we show when we make a sacrifice to others in need. That is what John means by loving “in word and tongue.” Deeds of sacrifice validate words of LOVE. In other words, put LOVE into action, not in just “words and tongue.”

In every area of my daily life, to my Heavenly Father, husband, children, grandchildren, job, society, my goals, visions, and purpose. My biggest struggle is making loving promises with my “words of my tongue” that do not come to reality. I have to sacrifice and remain faithful to my word through my action/deed. My promise would be my sacrifice of LOVE in truth.

My interpretation, how this scripture relates to “International Day Of the Girl” is that the apostle’s behavior was no different than people of today. Before the Holy Spirit allowed people to understand what Jesus had been speaking, the people viewed Jesus as just another revolutionary who would bring about military victory over the Romans who had invaded and occupied their country.

After Christ resurrection, the Apostles still did not understand that Christ was not another “false human savior” who promised to deliver their people from all of their trials and tribulations because they still were following the beliefs of the carnal minded man. The Holy Spirit had not yet opened their eyes to the reality that God is pure spirit and therefore has no gender.

God great act of love is the creation of the universe, heaven, earth, and all things. Because God created everything in love, it is considered safe and unique to God. So “International Day Of the Girl” should be viewed to be God’s children. Therefore our purpose should not be just “words of the tongue” but of action LOVE and Compassion through our deed/works.

I Pray:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your blessing in my life and my desire to work through today. I surrender myself and my resources to You. Show me ways to be a blessing to others through deeds of my LOVE on earth with knowledge and glory in Jesus’ name.
Amen
