Did you know that most diseases are caused mostly by what we eat? Make educated choices to try to AVOID, if possible, or eat in moderation, pus, mucus, and acid-forming foods: meat, poultry, dairy, grains, starches, and fats. Meat and dairy products create pus residue in the body, while starchy and fatty foods are mucus-forming.

Processed foods of all kinds are the primary offenders that cause inflammation; is thought to be affected in aging, depression, PMS, excessive fatigue, obesity, pain,
asthma, arthritis, heart disease, high blood pressure and eczema.

When estrogen levels fall, your heart and blood vessels become stiff and less flexible. Because of certain changes, your blood pressure will increase, causing hypertension. High blood pressure can place added strain on the heart.

Frequently the inflammation and the disease are so nearly related that it can usually be a problem of which came first, did the inflammation cause the illness or the illness cause the inflammation?

Try to eat more mucus-less, alkaline foods. These foods include all kinds of fat-free and starchless fruits and vegetables. Research and experiment to make conscious and correct food choice for body type and health. What works for someone else, may not work for you.

Over the years I have followed every fad diet: the cabbage soup diet, master cleanse diet, and so forth — you name it, and I’ve done it. For the last year, the Paleo diet has worked for me. Based on the varieties of foods considered to have been eaten by early humans, consisting chiefly of meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit, and excluding processed food, dairy, and, in moderation, grain products. Overall this has worked.

Since going through menopause, there is one condition that has been my worst nightmare, chronic sinusitis. Since childhood, I have always had a weak immune system. I stayed at the doctor’s office.

Now it has been the same problem throughout menopause. I have taken prescribed Claritin, Flonase, OTC Mucinex, and Sudafed for months with no relief.

I have taken the herbs Comfrey, Moringa, Echinacea, and Fennel Seeds, and there has been a minimal relief. The best remedy that gives the greatest comfort has been the use of Apple Cider Vinegar and my Netti pot. I flush my nose two times a day with a solution of 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar added to warm spring water. This flush dispells the mucus out of my body better than anything I have tried over the months.

Remember research and educate yourself to know what works for you during menopause.
