What does it mean that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone?
1 Peter 2:6 Amplified Bible (AMP)
6 For thus it stands in Scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a chosen (honored), precious Chief Cornerstone, and he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall never be disappointed or put to shame.

Jesus describes Himself as the Cornerstone that the church would be built upon, made up of believers, both Jew, and Gentile. The apostle Paul speaks to the Ephesian Christians about “Purpose.” We are no longer foreigners and aliens, but members of God’s household “The Church” God’s Holy Temple. God refers to the Cornerstone, Jesus Christ His precious Son as the foundation for OUR lives if WE would but trust in Him.

I am guilty, at times, I tend to interpret WORD only to fulfill my desires, and I would give praise and glory only when times are good. As I humble myself to the Lord, I can hear and do His will/purpose. In good times and bad times. The cornerstone is either a source of blessing for those that believe or judgment for those that stumble. God wants his disciples to know how special they are and how important it is to live out their high calling and privileges. The way is by continually renewing our minds by giving God honor and praise.

I Pray
Father, forgive me for so often I am self-centered. I think about my own needs and not yours. Please forgive me. Help me to believe as a believer should. Help me to live for your glory, not my own. And thank you for your great love for me and all of us. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
